We live in a great country, and if you are anything like us, sometimes we take our freedoms for granted. Toka's Friends exists because we appreciate the freedoms and sense of security that come with being a citizen of the United States of America.  We realize that our freedom and security come at a considerable price to the men and women who serve in our military.

Our Freedom Does Not Come For Free

Our brave service members experience situations that can negatively impact their lives forever. Toka's Friends believes that we can do more to help these courageous men and women who continue to fight battles long after they have left the field of combat. We believe in the healing powers of dogs and their ability to help veterans overcome the effects of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury).

   Did you know?

  • On average, approximately 18 military veterans commit suicide every day

  • As many as 20% of all veterans are diagnosed with PTSD

  • Trained service dogs can substantially improve the quality of life for veterans suffering from PTSD

Toka's Friends is a non-profit, volunteer run organization that trains service dogs for military veterans suffering from PTSD, TBI and other difficulties. These service dogs are provided at no cost to the veteran.

We are currently accepting applications from veterans who may qualify for a service dog. We are also looking for volunteer foster families to help socialize the dogs while they are in training.  Please go to our Contact Us page to let us know if you are a veteran in need of a service dog or if you are interested in volunteering.

And of course, we are in need of funding for this important mission.  Veterinary costs, food, supplies and professional dog trainers are a few of the expenses incurred while training a service dog. Please help support our military veterans in need - visit our Donate page and make a donation today!  100% of all donations go directly towards program expenses.
